(17,469 posts)1. Well, I won't get into the gun control aspect of this technology
but if the site is taken down, I would guess that it is because the gun manufacturers are pushing for it.
While we can argue about the effect of being able to make your own firearm in your own home on public safety, there is NO argument that such technology DIRECTLY threatens the profits of the firearms industry, and I don't see them quietly accepting the loss of tens of billions in annual sales.
BTW, has anyone heard the NRA (the firearms industry's mouthpiece) offer any opinion about 3D printed firearms?
