Related: About this forumShould all semi-automatic pistols that take more than 8 rounds be banned?
This semi-automatic pistol comes with two magazines which each holds 16 rounds.

Notwithstanding the ammo that can be carried in the magazines, it is not recommended as a backup for wild-hog hunting.
The barrel indicates the manufacturer and model.

(17,502 posts)That said, if I were hog hunting, I would use a single action revolver in either .357 or .45LC. Just saying.

Elsewhere, there are those who said that civilians should be banned from rifles such as the Remington 700 because it is a "sniper rifle."

We were all given brains bigger than lemmings. More people, instead of just following the crowd, should use them.

(1,370 posts)...you were waiting for somebody to chime in and say it looked dangerous, nobody needed a weapons like that, etc...
And then you would deliver the 'punchline', that it was just a pellet gun.
Sorry to say - many would not 'get' that, and just accuse you of being a 'gun nut' who was trying to change the subject, by getting into too many 'details' about guns.
I remember the Remington 700 thread...may have even posted on it. No matter what you say, or what logic dictates, some people will see that 700 and be absolutely terrified. They are too emotional to even begin to try and change their mind.

(6,001 posts)if it's a hog or bear even a mishit will slow him down....if it's a human attacking even an arm or leg hit from a .44 is enough shock to stop him in his tracks.
I've never found anything to refute that common sense approach.
I carry a .44 magnum when we are in the woods here in SC

A friend just come back from a hog hunt about 5 weeks ago. He actually used a 1911 with "hot" loads, when I asked about his choice of rounds he responded he wanted to have some sport in his hunt. LOL
He ended up with a smallish 250+ pound animal, with one round from his 45.

The teeth can't be seen in the photo, but I'll bet that it had some dangerous ones.
