Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumAmerica exceptional? Not when it comes to guns
On the subject of firearms, for example, the United States is exceptionally irrational. No other nation has set guns aside as an object of worship.
We have let a blood-soaked gun lobby dictate our laws and regulations on firearms; we have passed "stand your ground" laws that allow violent and angry men to murder unarmed people; we have given the mentally unstable the ability to buy military-style assault weapons with which they wreak havoc on crowds.
Last week, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed a bill into law that would allow denizens of his state to carry firearms into government buildings, bars and, God help us, churches.

Does the opinion piece have any merit?
Why ask to be piled on with ad homonym, nastiness and venom when the question is How do you feel about the perception that America is either gun crazy or just crazy?

(521 posts)I think calling us "gun crazy" because of our freedom to be armed is comparable to calling us "free speech crazy" because we allow "hate" speech (unlike many countries).

(6,185 posts)The comments are overwhelmingly about how full of crap the author is and how poorly researched her claims are, with supporting counter arguments.
How stupid do gun control supporters have to be to keep throwing the same handful of failed arguments and outright lies against the wall hoping that after 20+ years, somehow they will suddenly stick this time?
