Spitting, Stalking, Rape Threats: How Gun Extremists Target Women
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/05/guns-bullying-open-carry-women-moms-texas
The Female Mannequin Firing Squad
Open Carry Texas takes pains to convey a clean, friendly image in the press. Last November, the group made national news after some 40 members armed with assault rifles showed up outside an Arlington, Texas, restaurant where four women from Moms Demand Action were having lunch. The group released a statement saying it was being misunderstood: "In reality, the peaceful gun owners were posing for a photo." After a rally outside Austin City Hall this April, Grisham told the Texas Tribune, "We're not out there to bait police officers or to scare the community. We wave, we smile, we hand out fliers. If we see someone who seems really nervous, we’ll talk to them." What the group hasn't publicized are some of its members' more degrading antics. In March, a group of them held a "mad minute" at a firing range, pulverizing a female mannequin with a hail of bullets. They positioned the figure with her hands raised in surrender, naked from the waist up. Afterward, they posed with the bullet-riddled mannequin, her arms blown off and her pants down at her ankles. "Mad minute" is a military expression referring to a burst of rapid fire, and Open Carry Texas members have often referred to Moms Demand Action as "mad moms." Four of the men who shot up the mannequin were present at the Arlington restaurant, including one listed by Open Carry Texas as a board member and the group's Director of Operations. Grisham said he was not part of the group at the gun range, but when the mannequin video was posted on Facebook, he commented: "Warms the cockles of my heart." Recently he called women from Moms Demand Action "ignorant, retarded people," and last fall he referred to them as "thugs with jugs." ![]()

1. Remember the guy carrying sidearm to Obama speech few years back?
I thought a physical and severe reaction to him was necessary then, that if ANY person EVER in the HISTORY of the USA had done that to ANY other President, the entire country would have been in an uproar, the person arrested never to be seen or heard from again.
What happened to that pile of shit when he did that? N O T H I N G same as the morons in Nevada,. are they still there by the way? Jesus fucking christ on a god damn stick. |

Did you know that Bloomberg hired Watt's company Popvox Public Relations (which she formed after retiring from Wellpoint as head of PR (before that she top PR executive at Monsanto) to create MDA? |

10. I doubt the context MDA is trying to create.
Basically, its a demonetization campaign. What they are trying to do is smear gun owner= misogynist. Ask yourself, where did MDA get the video, and is there any evidence that any of these people are who MDA claims in this video? If they are not, who are they? What is the context?
World War I and World War II were pinnacles in the use of the propaganda poster. Most of these examples come from American, British and Russian propaganda from those eras. One of the first thing that becomes apparent when studying the history of propaganda in this medium is that there are thematic commonalities. Join the military (as the gallery at the beginning of this article illustrates), support the troops/bring them home, commemoration of a date or event, buy war bonds, careful to who you talk to and what about, strength through unity, save materials for use in the war effort, the soldiers are protecting you and/or threatened, the bad guys are really bad (possibly even sub-human). This is not an all inclusive list of themes to be certain, but the following galleries contain examples of propaganda posters grouped by like theme. Some of them are graphically appealing in their design on a purely aesthetic level. Some of them are direct. Some are appeals to emotion. Some are appeals to nationalism. Some work to define “the Other”. They all carry a message.
http://jonathanturley.org/2012/06/17/propaganda-102-holly-would-and-the-power-of-images/ The entire series is worth a read. more: Similar to dehumanization and stereotyping, the propaganda technique of demonizing the enemy aims at evoking a very negative emotion by associating the “enemy” or opposing group as evil, immoral, subhuman, or barbaric. and end it with .
http://www.propagandatheory.com/types-of-propaganda/215/ To be blunt: Bloomberg has a lot of money, but no grassroots support. MDA protesters are paid to show up, and a fiction created by Voxpop. He doesn't have public support. He doesn't have facts or reason either. All he has left is dishonesty. My question is did Watts use similar techniques against organic farmers while working for Monsanto? |

11. Open Carry Texas has not been shy about posting their videos online.
Ask yourself, where did MDA get the video
These gun fetishists seem to think that such videos show them in a good light, for some bizarre reason. They have proven this over and over and over again. Why do you think this has suddenly changed? |

14. I looked through their videos and their channel,
there is nothing like it on OCT's channel. The link is on MJ's channel, with a MJ water mark embedded in the video.
https://www.youtube.com/user/OpenCarryTexas So one or two person's puts shooting up iPads, so what? Sorry, there is no evidence to link that video to OCT or anyone else other than MJ. Like anything else, innocent until proven guilty. |

19. Which has to do with what?
It was obviously Mitt Romney saying it. I doubt he has a twin.
Here is how it works with me: I actually don't trust the right or left that much. I have this problem with putting reason before dogma and principle before ideology/party. Most of my views are left of center, and I vote for Democrats. That does not mean that I blindly believe everything MJ or MSNBC tells me. Doing so would would put me in the same category as the unthinking fools that blindly believe Rush and Fox without any question. I refuse to do that. Clear? |

...don't read MJ and never hear about the news.
What are the odds of OCT being MJ readers?
Good thing that OCT has you looking out for them. Otherwise they might never find out about these fake videos and the fake photo. |

Who reads or watches partisan media? Partisans. MOst conservatives watch Fox and read WND and most progressives watch MSNBC and read MJ for the same reason: get their confirmation bias fix. How many progressives do you know watch Fox? Conservatives watch MSNBC for other than the prison shows and Morning Joe?

4. Poor Mother Jones. As Bereft of Facts as InfoWars and Fox News these days.
Using the same tired guilt by association tricks to try to make their case as the rest of the gun control community.
Pathetic. |

Maybe they don't have a coherent argument so all they can do is fall back on emotion.

21. Are they making it up?
Maybe. It's like the deal with this Army guy that got sprung from Afghanistan. The Republicans and the media is claiming that he went AWOL and deserted. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. I don't have the slightest idea, and neither do those assholes on Fox.
The media doesn't do news or journalism, they do infotainment. I'm sure CID is investigating. As far as I am concerned, he is a returned PoW until if or when he is convicted in a general court martial. Same rules apply. |
