Related: About this forumCalifornia Loses Bid to Revisit Ruling Striking Gun Rules
YES!!!
The decision by the court not to review the matter is a victory for freelance videographer Edward Peruta, who sued after his application to carry a concealed Colt 1911 .45 caliber pistol was denied by the San Diego sheriff.
A three-judge panel of the San Francisco appeals court in February ruled the countys requirement that gun owners show a pressing need, such as a specific threat, in order to obtain a license to carry a concealed weapon was unconstitutional.

You have the right to not like the rights others have.

notrightatall
(410 posts)
1) a juvenile attitude that cannot discuss an important issue without making middle school level sexual innuendos, ironically claiming their opposition has a fetish problem.
- group assignment of guilt and ridicule of the 99+% of gun owners who are responsible. Not only would they be the greatest allies of effective gun control, it is likely no meaningful, lasting gun control legislation can be passed without the support of many of these gun owners.
2) the gun control movement today is attempting to organize a broad of widespread population who take a passing favourable interest in the issue. They have a zealous core of supporters for whom gun control takes on religious overtones.
The leadership is a group of ideologues for will throw everything else away on one issue. They happily accept money from Bloomberg never thinking he will want a return on that money on his other issues such as citizens united or "fixing" public schools with charter schools.
Republicans don't work that way. I know people claim he is independent but I can call a skunk a peacock it will still look the same and smell as bad.

Gee, I even have the proof:
An Ohio grand jury has declined to indict the white police officer who fatally shot John Crawford. A 22-year-old African American, Crawford was killed inside a Wal-Mart store last month after a caller phoned police to accuse him of brandishing a gun and pointing it at other customers. In fact, Crawford had picked up an unloaded BB air rifle on a shelf, an item that is sold in the store. Newly released surveillance footage shows major discrepancies between a 911 caller's account, and what really happened. The Justice Department now says it will launch a federal review to determine if Crawford's civil rights were violated. We are joined by two guests: Rashad Robinson, executive director of Color of Change, a national organization that has campaigned for Wal-Mart to release the surveillance tapes, and James Hayes, founding member of the Ohio Student Association, which has been organizing protests over the shooting.

RONALD RITCHIE: Im at the Beavercreek Wal-Mart. There is a gentleman walking around with a gun in the store.
911 OPERATOR: Has he got it pulled out?
RONALD RITCHIE: Yeah, hes like pointing it at people.
And yet the video shows that what was said in that call was a blatant lie, and can be seen at this link:
http://www.democracynow.org/2014/9/25/no_charges_in_ohio_police_killing
So yes, someone followed the suggested course of action, put forth by your anti-gun colleagues, and it
led to law enforcement showing up on the scene with a false understanding of the facts, and it got someone killed.
Its a prime example of "Innocent Americans dying because of someone's insecurities", a subject you so helpfully brought up. You brought it up, you are interested in discussing it, aren't you?
