Seven People Shot at Panama City Beach Spring Break Party

A spring break party in the Florida Panhandle turned violent early Saturday after seven people, including at least three college students, were shot at a Panama City Beach house, officials said. One of the victims was shot in the head and others were hit multiple times, and some were fighting for their lives at local hospitals.

A suspect was arrested after the shooting — identified as David Jamichael Daniels, 22, of Mobile, Alabama — and was being held in the Bay County Jail on seven counts of attempted murder, according to the Bay County Sheriff's Office.

"I knew I was shot and the first one hit me, it was in my neck," one of the victims, Tykeria Ethridge, 22, told NBC station WPMI. She was also shot in the shoulder. "I fell down and I just got shot. Before that, I said 'I'm dead' and I blacked out," she told the station.

Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen said during a late afternoon news conference that Daniels was out on bond for drug possession. Two other unidentified men were with him at the time of the shooting and later interviewed and released, McKeithen said. One of the men was also out on bond, while the other man was recovering from a gunshot wound from an unrelated shooting on Monday.

It's too easy to buy guns in America. This guy should not have had access to a gun.

only authorizing trained and licensed individuals who choose to carry concealed. Not pushing you or anyone else to carry firearms. Quite different thing.

...for the examples of horror from all the places where it's already allowed. Funny how that seems to be difficult, considering the whining about it, ain't it?

An explanation would also help on the "logic" of why a 23 year old, that stands in line behind you in the supermarket, suddenly becomes a deadly threat that could snap any minute just by walking across the quad?

All I've heard so far are the same failed arguments gun control tried to use to stop concealed carry in every state with a soupcon added hyperbole of; "18 year olds at drunken frat parties with machine guns".

Daniels has been arrested at least six times over the last four years in Mobile County on a number of misdemeanor charges: gambling, drug possession, disorderly conduct and loitering. The seven counts of attempted murder would be the most serious charges he's faced.

...

He struggled as a student at C.F. Vigor High School, and became frustrated when he fell behind a grade. He felt like he was too old to be in school, she said, but "I told him 'you never get too old for school.' " Daniels would eventually leave without graduating.
