Interesting absence of news

Four found in D.C. fire were slain, police say:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/probe-continues-into-mysterious-deaths-of-four-in-burning-dc-home/2015/05/15/8936d0aa-fb24-11e4-9ef4-1bb7ce3b3fb7_story.html

Four people killed (mass murder), including a child. In DC, a few minutes from Joe Biden's house.

Oh wait, the murders were done with blades and blunt objects. As far as the Bansalot crowd is concerned, nothing to see here, move along. Call me cynical, but I think that if this multiple homicide of a prominent DC family had been done with a gun we'd already have a thread with 200 "Fuck the NRA!" comments in it...

Seriously. I did a quick google search for "shooting" and "DC" for the past month, site-specific to DU and got 8 pages of results. Do it for "stabbing" or "stab" or "knifing" or "blade" and you get 0, 1 or 2 results (not pages of results, just results). It's almost like in some people's eyes, the object is more important than the lives involved.

Had any of the victims defended themselves with a gun they would be condemned for imposing capital punishment for assault, there would be lectures about the disrespect for the sanctity of human life and anyone who applauded the successful use of self-defense would be defending George Zimmerman.

To some we have a moral obligation to be raped and murdered.

You're absolutely right about the lack of news.

I hope the perps who did this rot in some rat hole.

I wish these people were as committed to ending hunger or homelessness. For that matter, I would be happy if they would just focus on throwing criminals in prison and leaving law-abiding firearms owners alone.
