I knew the original owner who bought the pistol in the early 1960's. When I got it the grips were missing and the pillars the grips screw into were missing. I staked in new pillars and installed rosewood grips. Later I found the original grips with the pillars still on the screws.

This 1911 is far from 'mint' condition. I have never had a miss-feed or a failure to eject. I was worried that the magazine spring was getting weak, but so far it works every time.

However a few years ago my Loving Wife earned her LTC, using my Series 70 Colt Lightweight Commander in 45cal. She then informed me t : at it was her's and that I needed to get a new gun. This is the first, and only time that she has told me that!
So I found a SIG220 with 3 mags, ISW holster and night sights. All for $350 including tax!
