5 handguns stolen from U.S. Army Reserve armory in Worcester remain missing months later

WORCESTER -- Five of the handguns stolen from the U.S. Army Reserve armory in Worcester last year are still missing, according to a statement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Six M-4 rifles and 10 M-11 pistols were stolen from the armory on Nov. 14. All of the rifles have been recovered, but five pistols still haven't been located.

"The FBI is still offering a reward up to $15,000 for information leading to the recovery of the remaining five handguns stolen from the Reserve," the FBI said in a statement Tuesday. "We're asking anyone with information about the location of these weapons to contact the FBI. We'd also like to urge anyone who may have access to these weapons to turn them in."

The pistols have a "U.S." government etching on them.

how many from private homes and from commercial gun stores?

How many of those stolen from the other categories were recovered BEFORE being used in a crime?

Care to defend your snideness?

Good snark needs no defense. My 'snideness' speaks for itself, in conjunction with the event reported above.

I will say that my guns are locked-up above and beyond what the law requires, because I take my responsibility as a firearms owner seriously. But liberty is delegating this responsibility to the citizen, rather than giving the government a monopoly on firearms storage.

You know who is responsible for all those guns stolen "from private homes and from commercial gun stores?" The thieves. They are also responsible for the theft from the armory. We ought to ban theft, by golly...
