I think the shooter in Dallas played a prank on everyone trying to increase controls on firearms. He used an SKS carbine which is considered a curio or relic under the NFA, so passing laws would have done nothing to prevent this tragedy.

It's Society that's fucked-up. We need more law s to make Society safe for every one, that means things like not losing your Home because of medical bills, going hungry, and a thousand other things that can make one's life a misery ad shorten our lifespan. Do you have proof that the gun used in Dallas is 50 years old? I have seen no such information, but I have no problem with being proven wrong.

due to import sanctions against the Chinese company Norinco, though millions were imported prior to the late?-1990s when importation ceased. If it was a non-Chinese SKS, it was probably a C&R (my ex-wife's Russian SKS was made in 1952), but if Chinese-made it probably wasn't.

I remember seeing Chinese SKS's for $69 around 1993-1994 and thought about picking one up, but passed for financial reasons. My then-wife later picked up a Russian (1952 Tula) instead for $99.00; she suggested getting two, and I should have listened.
