Off Duty Cop in St. Cloud Mall stabbings, also a concealed carry instructor

The off duty cop that stopped the St. Cloud mall stabbing perpetrator is also a Minnesota Concealed Carry instructor. He runs an outfit in Minnesota called Tactical Advantage Firearm Training Inc.

Glad this guy was there to stop the scumbag. I'm willing to bet their training business is going to be very busy for a while!

Ironically, the Mall was another one of those "safe" GFZ and the only reason he was able to carry was his status as a cop.

&quot Reuters) - A man who stabbed nine people at a mall in central Minnesota before being shot dead is a "soldier of the Islamic State," the militant group's news agency said on Sunday, as the FBI investigated the attack as a potential act of terrorism.

The man, who was wearing a private security uniform, made references to Allah and asked at least one person if they were Muslim before he assaulted them at the Crossroads Center mall in St. Cloud on Saturday, the city's Police Chief William Blair Anderson told reporters.

Five minutes after authorities received the first 911 call, Jason Falconer, a part-time officer in the city of Avon, shot and killed the attacker, whose name hasn’t been released. Anderson said Falconer fired as the attacker was lunging at him with the knife, and continued to engage him as the attacker got up three times.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation considers the incident a "potential act of terrorism," Richard Thornton, FBI special agent in charge of the agency's Minneapolis division, told a news conference on Sunday."

So, it took 4 rounds at close range to end it. They haven't officially released his name but sources have said he is from Somalia and has been an active part of the Minneapolis area Somali community. The FBI has already gone through his family's apartment for evidence and closed the entire mall as a crime scene for a few days.

Good point, it only happens 60,000 to 100,000+ times a year - so why bother? DonP Sep 2016 #3

Why be paranoid it'll ever happen to you?
Or to the guy that got stabbed at the local grocery store?

Apparently thinking it just might makes you unfit to carry in the 1st place...or something.

And we all "know" it will never happen in malls, churches, restaurants, retail stores, parking lots, movie theaters and other GFZ "Safe" spaces.

One guy on here said the terrorist could have been disarmed with a stick. Too bad he couldn't have been there to save the poor terrorist from getting shot.
