And another attempt at suppressing RKBA gets slapped down
https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/06/politics/new-york-gun-law-restraining-order/index.html
https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/65364032/antonyuk-v-hochul/?filed_after=&filed_before=&entry_gte=&entry_lte=&order_by=desc Are you listening Gavin? You can't make it harder to own and carry a gun than you make it to vote, protest, or write a letter to the editor. Rights are rights, and the fact that some assholes don't like other people exercising their rights means exactly zero. In fact, I take a lot of glee at watching people who would restrict my rights - be that who I marry, what I carry, what I write, or if I protest - being made miserable. And the emergency appeal is GOING to get slapped down, as it should. The only thing any attempts to restrict *any* rights should result in are horrific legal bills for those trying to impinge upon them. The fact someone might be bothered by me carrying a firearm means exactly as little to me as the fact they may be bothered that I have a husband of the same sex as myself, in other words LESS than zero, a feature not a bug.

4. I hope we can one day do so.
I am told by my NRA-loving "friends" that that is what it will take to have the much needed gun control in this country to keep bullets out of, among other things, school children.

5. The time to do it was during FDR's presidency.
The Democratic Party had practically everything and super majorities. A lot of states were democratic supporters as well. The entire south was a Democratic. It’s a shame nobody thought to do it then. It’ll probably take decades to do it now if ever.

12. A lot of kids in school with clear bullet-proof backpacks might want something better.
When they grow up, they will likely have a different view on what freedom is, and what "freedoms" they want for their own kids.
I may not live to see it, but I think it is closer than it appears now. |

3. Gun love trumps human life for gun lovers. Makes sense for a country
that started by invaders stealing the land from the indigenous people and enslaving them and other people they consider inferior to them in order to encrich themselves. Of course gun love is greater than love for human life, human life is nothing compared to being able to strap an obscene weapon on yourself and show it off to that mindset.

9. According to FBI stats
the good guy with a gun assumes room temperature 5x more often then not.
Science and facts make no difference to gun nutz unless they can be massaged to fit NRA talking points. |

18. There is not ambivalence to the stats.
Armed resistance to a 'bad guy' is 5x more likely to result in the one resisting being injured or killed.

What do open carry people do when they are home? Hide under the bed?

8. I think open carry is utterly stupid
But tell you what, try to break into my home when I'm there; I can rather assure you I'm not hiding under the bed, LOL. As with abortions or same sex marriages, if you don't like 'em, don't have one.

13. Ever notice that gun-humpers always feel entitled to eloquence and reasoning after they
spew moronic crap?
It's an interesting view into their distorted thinking, don't you think? |
