Another of bloombergs mayors against (illegal - yeah right) guns arrested.

A New Jersey mayor is accused by the FBI of hacking a website and email address related to a recall effort.

The Star Ledger reports that West New York, N.J.'s Mayor Felix Roque and his son Joseph were arrested and accused of taking down RecallRoque.com and uncovering email addresses of political enemies.

Since he led a recall effort against the previous mayor.

Mayors Against Illegal* Guns

* illegal= any gun which has been used, is being used or at some point in the future may be used to facilitate a crime**.
**crime=includes any form of homicide, including self defense.
special note=exceptions are permissible for those approved by a MAIG mayor in their own jurisdiction, or people we just like (if you have to ask, you should know already that does not mean you)

As the top thug put it (paraphrase from memory), "I can't understand why people carry guns. Guns kill people."

The funny thing is that he and those of his ilk expect us not to wonder why his security detail (and probably those for wife, any mistress(es), family, etc.) should be armed with guns quite capable of killing.

It's an old saying which is proven true again and again by stories like this.

Gun control isn't really about guns, it's about control. Control is about the attempt to gain absolute power. And absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Thus, all these MAIG mayors getting into legal trouble over their corruption issues or other congenital lack of conscience is hardly surprising.

Niccolo Machiavelli:
When you disarm your subjects, however, you offend them by showing that either from cowardliness or lack of faith, you distrust them; and either conclusion will induce them to hate you.

Daniel Webster:
Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority…the Constitution was made to guard against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.

Augustine of Hippo:
Though defensive violence will always be ‘a sad necessity’ in the eyes of men of principle, it would be still more unfortunate if wrongdoers should dominate just men.

Jesus of Nazareth (Gospel of Luke):
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Yep, that's what happened to Al Gore.

"The then-vice president and his advisors had tried to out-gun-control liberal challenger Bill Bradley during the Democratic primaries. Campaigning against George W. Bush in the general election, Gore decided to quiet his criticism of the NRA and mute his support for gun control to build support in battleground states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan where support for gun rights runs high. In the wake of Gore’s loss, many Democrats blamed the defeat on previous pro-gun control positions Gore had taken . . ."

"I have tried to convince Democrats that they can address gun control if they do it the right way."

Paul Helmke

And exactly what way would that be, Mr. Helmke?
