Reminds me I need to set my DU3 avatar and sig - a momentous decision, to be sure...

in sigs yet - I'll give it another shot once the site stabilizes a bit. I actually got a little pouty when it didn't work...

I'll try one way here...

...and another.

So the brackets worked in the post body, in preview at least. I'll try that again in the sig in just a bit.

Thanks, it's fun to play with and explore a new site, isn't it? They should build a new DU every month...

On edit: wow, that first line was orange in the preview, but now it's light blue! I guess I need to figure out what color name means 'orange' on this planet!

let's not get crazy. I am thinking once every 3-5 years is sufficient. every month and I would go bonkers

When I first posted here, back in May, they were just running the beta test on the new site.

At that time we had a few gun control supporters clamoring to totally remove the forum from DU as inappropriate for "true liberal/progressive thinking". I wanted Skinner, and anyone in Admin that was paying attention, to at least know there were more than a few of us that wanted to keep this forum open and active.

Any fears I had then were not only unfounded, but many of those gun control people are now long gone, unable to carry on a conversation under Skinners new rules of civility without ranting and raving or name calling.

There are still a few that seem to try and clumsily bait 2nd supporters into violating the rules, but in time they'll succumb to their own cupidity and close mindedness.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
