ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. Investigators said an alleged home invasion suspect shot and killed by an Orange County homeowner was trying to rob the elderly couple.
The shooting happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday along 10th Avenue. The suspect was identified as Luis Angel Rivera. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Riveras family said he worked around the clock to provide for his wife and four children and they can't believe he attempted to rob an elderly couple at knifepoint.
Riveras wife and mother-in-law spoke to WFTV through sobs about what happened.
What a good boy, he would never rob or invade anyone's home and try to hurt them. These predators are out there, and some people seem to think they are good people. That shows what a poor judge of character some people are.
Don't trust your life to the "goodwill" of others. Take personal responsibility for your safety and that of your loved ones. Buy a firearm and learn how to use it. If you already have one, take more training classes.
