Congressman John Barrow has a great new ad.... Reposted from the Video section...

He is in a tough fight in his recently "gerrymandered" district. Thought that posting it here was a good idea too!

&feature=youtu.be

EDITED TO ADD..... Just to point out to some, THAT rifle is very much a MILITARY "assault rifle", much more so than the semi-auto's some keep trying to ban.. That German K98k rifle was used by the Hitler's Army in WW2.....

That rifle most likely was at one time, in the hands of a soldier following Hitlers orders..

IMHO that rifle is a TRUE "assault weapon".... In John's fathers hands, it was a defender...In that soldiers hands, a weapon of pure evil...

It all depends on the man holding it.

Pres. Obama can't do that, even if he wanted to, which he has shown absolutely no interest in.
Let me ask you something, would you be part of the the confiscation team?

I would, he seems like a very intelligent man.
And like he said No One is going to take our guns away so deal with it.

I collect them. The beauty of the older military rifles - Anything older than the M16 or the Soviet SKS - make great clubs if you run out of ammunition.

But that would be where I would draw the line for rifles that can be "effective clubs"

The Red Army in WWII also had a penchant for using sharpened entrenching tools (foldable shovels that soldiers used) in hand to hand combat. So much so that the German Army accused the Soviets of war crimes over it.

As for the best rifle that can be used as a club, that HAS to be the classic No1 MkIII Lee Enfield.. With brass buttplate and steel nose cap... Not to mention lots and lots of wood to hang onto.

I think some people just see it's a plastic stock and assume it's weak. A completely false assumption in reality. Current Mil-spec A2 stocks are made of a type of very strong engineered polymer called Zytel. Stronger in tension and compression than any solid wood stock you'll find on a SKS or AK variant as well as being more resistant to weathering. Also, a full length mil-spec A2/A4 is plenty hefty, as much as an SKS if not slightly heavier when loaded.

That's was the vote differential in 2006 where John Barrow defeated uber conservative Max Burns. Barrow won by wider margins in his other elections, but that one was damn close.

Sometimes elections are that close and an authentic statement of support of the 2nd Amendment can make a world of difference in an election for a Democrat in GA.

Some may quibble that he is a blue dog or DINO, but he more often than not votes party line.

Obama campaigns for him. Max Cleland campaigns for him. If John Barrow is good enough for those Democrats, he is good enough.

Yes, District 12 in GA, my district, has been stacked against him, but he's still just barely edging out Lee Anderson.

We have all been informed, in all capital letters even, by our self appointed Zampolit apparatchiks that anyone who doesn't agree completely with the President's stand on an AWB, should just shut up and go away. Quick report this candidate to the KGB and Stasi. The proletariat is not allowed to question our dear leaders.

On another note, I have a K98 Mauser and that thing shoots out a ball of fire with every shot using Czech surplus. At the local plinking range it was setting small grass fires in the dry weeds every now and then.when we tried shooting it from prone.

I don’t know all the counties in GA CD 12 that well, but Barrow has built up an impressive lead of more than 24,000 votes. Here’s the current vote total, with green checkmarks indicating those counties are fully reported:
