Zombies are among reasons for increased gun sales

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by krispos42 (a host of the Gun Control & RKBA group).

BY JOSH KERNS

Gun sales are soaring across the country. The FBI reported earlier this week requests for background checks skyrocketed 20 percent on Black Friday over the same day last year. A noted gun rights advocate says zombies are just one reason why.

"There is I guess, you would call it a cottage industry that's sprung up in the last couple of years," Dave Workman of the Second Amendment Foundation and editor of The Gun Mag said in an interview with Ross and Burbank.

He's not kidding.

"A lot of people appear to be really enthralled by this. I've seen lines of zombie targets, I know one or two ammunition companies have introduced boxes, lines of cartridges they called zombie cartridges, shotgun shells and rifle shells."

would be more appropriate.

Hornady sells a line of ammunition called "Zombie Max", it amuzed me. Box is quite funny, and has a set to tips and suggestions on handling zombies such as tripwires, because they don't walk very well.

The targets are also hillarious, and for shits and giggles my wife and I did get one once while at the range.

It's a marketing gimmick, nothing more. With the series "The Walking Dead", also several books and movies (can't wait for Max Brook's movies) that are being released lately, it would make marketing sense to ride that wave.

Kind of as a odd tchotchke to put in amongst my bric a brac...oh, yeah back to my point..

I just imagine should I have a self defense situation arise in my home, how it would look for the prosecutor to present as Exhibit "D", 2 boxes of Zombie Max rounds... I put it back and went with the far less colorful name.

I emptied the box of Zombie max at the range, and just left the empty box on display in my game room.

It would be hilarious to hear a defense attorney try and tapdance around a client who used "zombie" rounds.

They have some funny stuff over at: http://incaseofzombies.com/

It has all kinds of things (unique, stupid, expensive, things you never knew you needed until you saw them). They have some cool stuff, but they also have zombie targets that bleed. WTF!!!

I saw that and started yelling at the computer. And the jerks I work around like talking about what type of bullets would do what type of damage to human flesh. UGH!!! Apparently over the holiday break, he bought some zombie targets for his sons.

There are some scary people out there....

Today vampires are all glittery and emotionally deep, while warewolves are all hunky and misunderstood.

While entertaining, the linked article fails to meet the SoP of the Group. The Lounge might be a better place for this, especially since "The Walking Dead"is on hiatus until February.
