but these days, "drops" means issued or similar terms. Apparently all the kids use "drops"

"My podcast drops tomorrow"
"The new shoes drop next week, gonna go to the store"

Some headline writer was just trying too hard to be cool

Like "Beyonce dropped a new single today" as opposed to "Spotify dropped Neil Young."

But yeah, it is a little misleading.

The kids say ‘drops’ when something new comes out. Like “dead Elvis dropped new tunes today”

This is how you know you’re no longer the target demographic
