Tricia Cotham's mother is a long time Charlotte politician, and a Democrat. Tricia Cotham was not a stranger to NC politics prior to her betrayal and was always a Democrat.
Tricia Cotham is also in a relationship with a Republican member of the legislature, and apparently has been for some time. She gave her boyfriend a veto proof legislature.
