At no point in this story does it say how many calories does this container have? I had to share this. How many calories is this portion?...the story does not say, anywhere..what is the point?

McDonald's Japan has given the term "supersized" new meaning with its new "Mega Potato" French fries, which combines the contents of two large fries in one super-wide container.

It's an interesting move, considering that other parts of the world are trying to put the breaks on the obesity epidemic that is, in part, fueled by a global obsession with fast food.

often ridiculous spelling and grammatical errors... Editors don't exist there, apparently (but don't dare mention that in comments--or go ahead, but don't expect it to appear)

3. The link provided at the HuffPo article doesn't mention

calories, either - but a two-minute google reveals that a large McD fry is 154g and 500 calories (a kid size is 31g and 100 cal)

Since the mega-size is 340g, I guess that would be roughly 1100 calories.

Which is, indeed, a lot.

Why doesn't the article say that? After all that is what the headline is about? .......well it is the Huffington Post..that is what I expect from them.
.I am no expert on the media I know a little, but I guess I expected more from an article about calories. Oh well..thanks for the research..

6. Responsible journalism - or even decent journalism

seems to be a dying art, so I'm never surprised by what isn't in an article anymore (sadly).

It really seemed to bug you, though - so I figured a quick trip to the numbers wouldn't hurt (and I have those marked, so it wasn't a big deal - reading those occasionally is a good way to remind myself that my craving for a sausage biscuit isn't worth the calories!)
