The Rick Ungar Show on Sirius/XM Left 127

He took the place of Alex Bennett.

Heard him for the first time this morning. He had on a private sector "E-Health" guy discussing Obamacare and the health exchanges.

With these kind of corporate ass kissers representing the "Left", we don't need any enemies.
Shallow, no serious questioning of this E-Health jackasses propaganda. In fact Ungar supported him.

That's the first and last time I listen this Ungar guy.

Haven't listened to him very much but other days - I kind of liked him. I do think he is way better than Alex Bennett - never liked that guy at all. I will keep listening a little more before I make up my mind about him. I have read that he has really followed and educated himself on the Affordable Care Act and is a supporter of Obamacare.

I happen to come across this and thought I'd respond.

It's a shame that you are so closed to a private company having an important role to play that you missed the point. If you understood the challenges to successfully implementing the Affordable Care Act, you would know that e-health could play a hugely important role in helping to get more Americans insured and accomplishing the goals of reform. Had you further been able to listen with a more open mind, you would have heard that the gentleman who was on, the CEO of E-health, happened to have been a major supporter of Obamacare and did more than his share to make it happen. How do you think I happen to know him?

I gotta tell you that the only thing that I find as disturbing as a close minded, obstinate, lazy and unavailable right-winger is a close minded, obstinate, lazy and unavailable progressive, probably because I expect so much more from progressives. You heard the words "private company" and you never heard the rest of the story. That is precisely why it has been so incredibly difficult to get Americans to understand why the healthcare reform is both positive and important for so many-even if it doesn't reach the level of a single-payer system which i am long on record as preferring.

Frankly, your not liking the radio program will not change my life in the smallest. Indeed, it is only a three week run and then I will be back to my "day jobs".

But your inability to actually hear a story and decide for yourself where it leads-without first running it through some filter that first decides if it is safe for progressive consumption-very much hurts a lot of lives. You should wise up because you are not doing anyone any good at all-particularly yourself.

Now, I've given you a reason to hate not only my radio show, but my television work and my column with equal abandon for not being sufficiently pure to make it easy for you to brand these things one way or another without having to actually do a little work and thinking for yourself. Look me up if you ever decide that you are ready to actually understand issues and be open to important solutions no matter where they may come from.

You made your point about e-health very well but IMHO you should consider going back and editing out the personal attacks on others in your post.
It lessens your argument about the facts of your case.
For a progressive like yourself with radio and TV shows and a column DU is a perfect place to find new fans.
Stick to the facts and making solid arguments while taking the high road will win you more fans here at DU than snarky pithy personal attacks directed at other members.
Good luck.

Not "Sirius Middle".
Deal with it.

What a nasty assumption-laden diatribe you spew.

Your E-Health CEO buddy wants in to the health exchanges as a middleman. Who will pay for the regulatory oversight because they, being a for-profit corporation, will need not only need new regulations (which he said they would write) they will need government paid for oversight.

Your E-Health buddy has corporate shareholders to satisfy above all else which time after time has been proven to run counter to providing consumer affordability.
Your E-Health buddy claims that insurance companies pay for his service. This may be true however an added layer of cost surely drives up the rates for all...it's basic math.

Oh...and I lie...I did listen the next day and you had on two Tea Party representatives who you let go on and on.

You can't hold a candle to true Progressives like Thom Hartmann.
Perhaps you need to be with Michael Smerconish in the squishy middle over at the POTUS Channel?
