I sent away for them in 2017, but they were still classified after 53 years. All I received was the form Restriction of Assignment and Travel of Personnel Having Access to Special Intelligence. The Adjutant General ATTN: AGPF, Department of the Army Washington, D.C. 20310 In accordance with paragraph 5a, AR 614-31, it is requested that the personnel files on the following individual be flagged, effective this date, as the individual may be restricted from certain assignments and travel as a result of having access to special intelligence. It has been 58 years, does anyone know how long those records are going to be flagged? I would really like to tell my great-grandchildren what I did in the army.

1. I know from my service that some of it can be sealed forever.

I looked for AR 614-31 to read the reg and can't seem to find it. There is an AR 614-30 which deals with everything from PCSing to TDYs overseas. Nothing in the reg that outlines TS assignments. I'm just an amateur though. If it were me, I would call your nearest installation and speak to someone in JAG.

2. Thank you, the form AR 614-31 is from 1964. I am sure it has been replaced by now.

Like I know a lot of the MACV-SOG guys helped the 7th SFG work on stuff they did in Central America. Several got CIB’s and valor awards.
