In Remembrance on Memorial Day

For those we personally knew and lost...

And for all the men and women lost too soon in our wars...

I knew more than 60 who were killed in the Vietnam War alone. Makes this a tough day for so many of us...

In Remembrance...

"You may be lost, but you are not forgotten. For those who have traveled far, to fight in foreign lands, know that the soldier's greatest comfort is to have his friends close at hand. In the heat of battle it ceases to be an idea for which we fight. Or a flag. Rather we fight for the man on our left, and we fight for the man on our right. And when armies are scattered and the empires fall away, all that remains is the memory of those precious moments that we spent sided by side."

my father - a Korean War veteran. Buried in Houston, TX.

Here's to my son - a disabled veteran now served very well by the Veteran's Administration. It took almost 2 years of persistence and waiting, but his service is now remembered and honored by us!

Remembering my ship the USS Barbour County - now doing service as an underwater sea habitat.

To all who pay a price in service to our country - for any and all reasons!

I remember my brother in law who died in Vietnam. I miss him in our family. Mu daughter never had an uncle or cousins, we are a very small family.
This experience radicalized us and we spent fourteen and still going years in the Peace Movement. I remember the million people who died in Iraq, the 275,000 who died in Syria. Each life lost leaves a hole somewhere. Respect human life and work for Peace.
