And to their families

A message for the spouses of veterans. Please be patient and remember today. With you’re loved one who served ,just over look if they pull out a bottle of hot sauce. Or a packet of processed cheese and add it to their turkey. Just kindly remind them and say dear it is not a turkey loaf MRE.

3. When you tell that veteran to open the cranberry sauce, and he pulls out a P38 can opener,

then you can point him to the electric can opener on the counter.

Or not. Opening a can with a P38 can be like rolling prayer beads.

But I always used my Dad's old P-38 to tear open the heavy vinyl pouch of my MRE's.

I keep a P38 on a set of keys which is attached to my "Jesus Strap".

That's the bright yellow strap that lets you disconnect your rucksack from your parachute harness. ( Look down and see you are going in the water and need to dump a heavy ass ruck. Yell "Oh Jesus!" And frantically look for that fucker.)
