Christmas Day I shouldn't have to dig out my Kevlar flak and helmet

Invited several vets their union guys I work with they showed up with beer. And I regifted the last couple cases I had left to the cause, so we played cards nickel dime poker and the conversation turned to once again as it always does who had it harder osut army infantry at fort benning or usmc at Paris island.

I find humor watching and listening as in whose Drills were the toughest, me personally I was terrified as a 18 year old of my Drill sergeants at benning ok I can do try and do these 13 weeks invisible they will never even know I’m here yea sure. And we all experienced these memories three to five decades ago, it usually starts after around the eight to ten beer consumption territory. Even when I drank I found humor and never really gave a shit as now hey you served that’s all that counts.

So I like to aggravate my one friend former army infantry grabs German beer then my one friend who was army arty asked hey can I grab veizen beer yea sure go ahead but it will be 5$ he looked what I said all beers are free for former airborne infantry you were a leg LEG lacking enough guts to jump or go airborne. And then the usmc vets were laughing I said 10$ for you two assholes they knew I was joking.

But once they all get to a ceartin level of beer consumption before you know it their Drill sergeants we’re eating barbed wire and pissing napalm I sit and just smile and listen too them.
