with a bunch of (baby boomer age) friends.

We all just screeched from laughter

Good thing we weren't in a theater. We probably would have been thrown out

Annette Benning plays a wonderfully funny ....well actress that is about our age now in "Being Julia" and she is a baby boomer.
Matter of fact She plays in a couple of really good movies where the charactors are boomers.
"American Beauty"
"The women" with Meg Ryan,Debra Messing, and an all star cast.

if you have seen the original "The Women", and if so, how the remake compares with it.

Funny, it wasn't until I read a review after seeing it that I found out there were absolutely NO men at all in that film. Even such animals that were in the movie were all female.

Didn't even notice the lack of Y chromosomes in that movie, that's how involved I became in it.

Though it was certainly dated with some of its preconceptions and expectations about women. LOL!
They gave more screen time and story line to Bette Midlers (LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!)Charactor in the orginal.Which I really wished they had done in the remake.
Bette wouldve played the heck out of that ageing loveable cougar! LOL!

LMAO!!! I also really loved the Animals they showed in the original to represent each charactors personality's I fell off my couch laughing so hard.

I enjoyed both movies exactly for what they are
A warm , funny ,affectionate look at woman and their relationships with each other and themselves.

Couldnt say which was my faveriot though....... they both are EXCELLENT! Though Jada Pinkett and Debra Messing,Meg Ryan, and Annett Benning rocked it out of the park!!!

I know its seems Wierd talking about movies either starring Boomers or a story line about Boomers but The way I see it Movies are a mirror of our society and worth a look.

What about the movie "The people vs Larry Flint" ?

I will seriously have to check out the newer version of "The Women". It's been a long time since I saw the first one, so I'm not sure how much I'll remember, but it should be interesting.

And I did see "The People vs Larry Flynt" too, but again, long ago, and I don't remember much except that I thought Woody Harrelson did a pretty good job portraying Larry Flynt, as far as I've ever seen/heard him.

You know I really love Larry Flint. He takes every oppurtunitie To mess with the repukes and shine a bright light on their Hypocrisy.

And he certainly doesnt mind stirring up and disrupting "Authorities" Do you think he fits a stero typical "Baby Boomer"?

I mean our generation is known for shakeing up the status quo.

I think you will most definitly enjoy the new version of "The women" as well. Its one of those flicks where you love all the charactors and would have them as friends if they lived next door to you......well......maybe not the "mistress" so much. lol!
