8. I always took that line to mean

that people shared each other's pain over the protest issues. But I guess it could have been literal, since so many protesters were beaten by cops and herded into paddy wagons and jail cells.

Whichever it is , I have always liked this song as a symbol of the protest years.

"We all had caught the same disease
And we all sang the songs of peace..."

It's a great song.

4. Yeah, but as strange as the song was, I always found it incredible that actor Richard Harris's

version was so memorable and actually the best... although Donna Summers' version was good as well, if you liked disco.

regarding Richard Harris - best of all of the recordings.
The bad memory that followed was the he was encouraged and actually did make recordings of OTHER songs - THAT WAS JUST NOT RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
