Our friends parents would get a box of 'real Florida citrus' in winter in the 60s& early 70s.
We would eat oranges, a fresh fruit in snowy times!
My Mom made broiled grapefruit on Sundays, we were living fancy and high that day.
Good memories
And ours came in a really cool basket that you can buy on Etsy now for $50!

(103,806 posts)Would travel from Cape Cod to Tampa in winter to see my aunt and her family. They always sent us one of those crates of citrus, we were a big family, for the holiday. Indian River, never forgot it.
Early 60s.
