Fascinating article on 'reverse aging'.

Age Reduction Breakthrough
Posted on May 11, 2020

"If you eschew hyperbole and hang in for the long haul, maintaining a discipline of understatement in the midst of a flashy neon world, you may be offered a modicum of credence when you make an extraordinary announcement. No one is entitled to this courtesy twice. If the news that you trumpet to the moon does not pan out, your readers will be justified in discounting everything you say thereafter.

Here goes.

I believe major rejuvenation has been achieved in a mammal, using a relatively benign intervention that shows promise of scaling up to humans. I’m going to stake my reputation on it."

I had to stop a look up several words/terms, but this may herald a real breakthrough on reversing the aging process.
It's a long article and the comments at the end by different experts in the field are just as riveting.

It’s easy to capitalize on the natural fear of death that most people have.

A common word in the articles is 'methylation'.

Newborns are routinely screened for methylation issues. A common issue is MTHFR related. Serious birth defects can be prevented with simple methylated folate. This compensates for babies with genetic codes that do not process ordinary folate, so the methylated folate enables them to absorb the folate that they need for health. This is just the tip, of the tip of the iceberg, for such interests.

Another simple example. A longtime friend of mine at 64 had his right leg go numb at times. Scary. All sorts of tests done. Nothing. Then, his conventional doctor gave him orders to rush to ER and get a certain blood test done. Findings were a B vitamin deficiency in his leg! The body did not transfer that B vitamin to the leg.The Rx tried was a conventional extra dose of that B vitamin [I don't remember which it was], each morning. Result, no more numb leg.

Leaping forward a bit, there is an iceberg of potentials that are being worked on. Peptides [target amino acid delivery systems] are in abundance, [you may have notice 'hair-skin-nails' collagen products on store shelves and cataglogs]. There many more peptides, nootropics work [in varying degrees], etc., etc.

Very interesting, promising and fruitful stuff.

Hope this helps a little.

I suspect the ultra-rich will be the first beneficiaries of this, if it proves to be effective.

A big new, brain/memory helper is dihexa. You may not have heard of it, because they can't patent it. So a lot of things are out there, and there are some immediate hopes.

I recently read The Postmortal by Drew Magary. In it a "cure" for aging is accidentally discovered and eventually most people in the world take it. The consequences are dire. With no one dying, for the most part, and people continuing to have children, population numbers careen out of control. Environmental degradation is dire.

It's an excellent cautionary tale.

Not sure I'd seek treatment at that point, or even at my current age.
