Time to buy a rollator for the Mister (and I might get some use out of it too).

Does anyone have any recommendations (or warnings!) about their experiences with rollators?

I'm looking at a Medline brand from Amazon. The least expensive ones look small and "cheap" (and the reviews tend to indicate poor quality materials and construction).

But since we're both of a "certain size" it looks like the bariatric size rollators may be more appropriate. (Even though the max-weight of the smaller ones is far above my actual weight... they just look small and unstable anyway.)

I'm very proud of him for admitting that it's time and that he needs it. (I still can't admit defeat and get the hearing aids I ought to have, however. Y'all can just talk louder, please.)

Don't order from Amazon - go to a place selling them and try them on for a test drive. Some places will,or might, even rent them. You do want one that will offer strong support, should feel to the user that it is strong and they have confidence in it.

... and if it's awful, then it's easy enough to return at my local Costco store.

Thanks for the advice!

vs. non- folding ( for sturdiness). We bought a non-folding for the neighborhood, because we had a folding walker for travel, but now I wish the rollater could fold, so I could have a portable seat for waiting on a certain line in a few days.

What finally motivated him into admitting that it would be nice to have is the thought of having to wait in a LONG LONG line for voting. The cane just wouldn't be enough. We were going to bring a folding chair as a standby emergency solution... but that just seemed clumsy. It would work, but a rollator would be better (and it's obviously something we'll use again).

It was about $85 at Amazon (some assembly required) and that was about half (or so) compared to a nearly identical model at the local medical supply business/pharmacy.

It will suit our purposes just fine and if he needs to move up to the deluxe model, then by that time, I'll probably be ready to use the original basic model.

I teased him a little and asked him if he wanted me to order some streamers for the hand grips and a bicycle bell... he thought for a moment (faking that he was seriously considering it) and then he smile and gave me a stern "NO!"

This is the one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q3Z8K2G

I can't understand why the burgundy color rollator is more expensive... we chose the black one (which is now sold out).
