To commemorate her birthday, actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance

at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP.

One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used:

*Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,*
*Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,*
*Bundles of magazines tied up in string,*
*_These are a few of my favorite things_*
*Cadillacs and cataracts,* *hearing aids and glasses,*
*Polydent and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,*
*Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,*
*_These are a few of my favorite things._*
*When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,*
*When the knees go bad,*
*I simply remember my* *favorite things,*
*And then I don't feel so bad.*
*Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,*
*No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,*
*Bathrobes and heating* *pads and hot meals they bring,*
*_These are a few of my favorite things._*
*Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',*
*Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',*
*And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,*
*_When we remember our favorite things._*
*When the joints ache, When the hips break,*
*When the eyes grow dim,*
*Then I remember the great life I've had,*
*And then I don't feel so bad.*

_Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd_
_that lasted over four minutes and repeated encores.

Some surgery that went bad or something. I'm (pleasantly) surprised she could perform.

had damage to their vocal cords from polyps being removed. Their ability to support singing with their breath seems to be part of the issue. Yet I've heard them sing one or two songs pretty well. Tunefully at least. They can't handle a lot of singing anymore so no longer perform. I wonder which it is for Julie Andrews.

The Sound of Music was a childhood favorite of mine. Also love watching her performances in Victor/Victoria, and S.O.B.!

Years ago, I hosted an exchange student from Austria who’d never seen the Sound of Music. So, one evening, we forced him to sit through the whole movie. We might have even sung along to the songs, including this one!

Ever since I went to the movie theater as a young child to see Marry Poppins.

Glad to know she is still in high spirits with a great sense of humor.
