Related: About this forumI forgot my closing moment action that caught my new NP off guard
Just as we were about to part ways at the end of the appointment, I held out my hand to her. She was kind of flummoxed, for a second, but then she reached out and shook my hand. Then I thanked her. Personally, it made me feel I left the appointment on my terms, which means we can put that most disastrous first appointment behind us and move forward.
She's still not the warmest HCP I've met. She's also far from the coldest.
My next appointment is in 3 months.

into their eyes. A small smile before you let go. You control by taking charge.
You done good.
