Lets talk Grooming Products

I bought myself a Clarisonic for Christmas and LOVE it. I feel it really gets my face much cleaner without the irritation.

What other tools and products do you love?

I'm also a very loyal WEN user for my hair. It's been great for me and my hair is in fact much thicker than when I used regular shampoo. It gave my sister dandruff and my husband hates the way it makes his hair feels. It really is an individual thing I guess.

And....

Mineral Makeup???? I'm not much for glamming it up on a daily basis but this stuff is amazing.

1. Never heard of it...

I recently discovered some Oil of Olay face cloths that I love. I wash with them and there's no need to moisturize and my skin hasn't looked this good in a long time.

I also found a frizz tamer on clearance by Iso that has been amazing. I have thick hair that tends to frizz and I was tired of trying to flat iron my hair. (Funny, I just had a flashback to my hippie sister ironing her hair with an iron!) I worry that the stuff I found is being discontinued so I better go back for more while I can find it!

2. The Clarisonic is like an electic toothbrush for your face

It does lift dirt and clean pores far better than a cloth or any other product I have used. They are pricey. The small one is about 100 bucks. I'm glad I got it. I have large pores and oily skin so this does a good job for me

I love Oil of Olay products too and use their pink cream all the time. I haven't seen the cloths.

Do you have Grocery Outlets or BigLots near you. They are the best sources for me in finding new products. You do run risk though that you won't be able to get them again. My daughter and I use to go once a month to try new things...Until we became WEN slaves...Now nothing else touches our hair... I figure it this way...I pretty much gave up eating meat so I can afford expensive hair products...

3. I've considered Wen...

and I know I can't believe everything I read, but it seems to be liked more by people with fine hair. I have thick hair and an oily scalp. I don't like things to weigh my hair down. But I do have frizzies at times and I use a smoothing gel for that. This is a case where I'd love to try a sample before making an expensive purchase.

5. ROFL

Don't get me started....

I know...I'm guilty of having the Consumer Report Gene...

My daugther has thick frizzy hair and swears by the WEN. It is pricey but considering you don't need to really buy conditioner it's not that bad. Also I have found I don't need to wash my hair daily like I did with regular shampoo.

QVC has the best price on WEN that I have found. The beauty supply stores have a cheaper product called Hair One which is similar but not the same. I didn't like it as much and it didn 't give me the same end result.

10. I have one of those.

I really like it. I also use Walgreen's Apricot Scrub.

Oil of Olay is the best. I have been using Palmers Cocoa Butter.

8. Oil of Olay is still my favorite!

I have been using Oil of Olay moisturizer since I was in college. I was working at K-Mart and got hooked on the stuff. Friends, sometimes the oldest products are the best. I have never used Wen on my hair because it seems like it is for people with problem hair and thank God I don't have that problem.

I treated myself to all new makeup and I have really fell in love with Lancome.

9. Lancome makes the only eye makeup remover I can use...

and I have tried so many in order to find something less expensive that works. But their effacil is the only one that isn't oily and does not make my eyes burn. Some people love their bifacil but I find that too oily for my already oily skin. I can make the bottle last a long time but I still hate to pay that much!

11. Oil of Olay bar soap & bodywash, Pantene 2-in-1 shampoo & conditioner, no makeup.

*edited to add: I am never without a clear moisturizing lip balm, ever.*

That's it.

The Pantene 2-in-1 is normally Classically Clean, but I switch to a more moisturizing one in the dry winter months when static electricity becomes a problem.

12. The chlorine filter for my shower head.

Some mornings when you turn on the faucet, you can smell the chlorine. So, no more itchy scalp & skin from exposure to this harsh chemical. Got a water distiller for drinking & cooking water, too.

- Aubrey Organics for skin & hair. Love it! All natural - no petro chemicals.
- Mineral makeup - love it.
- Mineral eye liner - I swaped mascara for eye-liner & I'm so much happier! No more racoon eyes, no more irritation, & my eyes still stand out behind my ultra-myopic lenses.

13. Alpha Hydrox Souffle...

has 12% glycolic acid, and it's great for anti-aging (I think Dr. Oz recommends this cream, also). It's cheap (about $12 per jar, and it lasts for about a month or two), but effective.

Melashade sunscreen (great for oily skin, and when it's not too hot outside)

Neutrogena anti-aging sunblock (great when the UVA/UVB rays are blasting)

Make-up Artists Choice Mandelic Acid peel (for at-home chemical peels)

coconut oil (great moisturizer, for use after chemical peels, and great for hair)

Pure 100% Shea butter (another great moisturizer, but is very, very heavy)

14. Was just about to post about the LIFE-CHANGING product I found....

http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=118247/Makeup_Dissolving_Foaming_Cleanser___/Clean_&_Clear/Cleansers

Now I see it's been DISCONTINUED!!!

Johnson & Johnson's Clear & Clean....make-up remover and facial wash in one.

Found it at Big Lots a few months ago....went back and bought about 4 bottles...
guess I'd better buy out the stock next time I see it.

Totally works!

There are nights when I am TOO DAMNED LAZY to want to wash my face. Times I find myself in
the shower with no make-up remover, just facial cleanser. Nights I fall asleep on the
couch watching Colbert...this product reduces the bedtime ritual to about 1 minute...takes off ALL eye
make-up WITHOUT SCRUBBING or oils...leaves face, well, clean and clear!

Of course, it's discontinued. But if you find it at BigLots, buy it!

16. Oil of olay

I have been using oil of Olay. I applied it in small quantity as I feel oily when too much applied.
