Saudi Arabia driving ban on women to be lifted

Saudi Arabia's King Salman has issued a decree allowing women to drive for the first time, state media say.

Government ministries are to prepare reports within 30 days and the order will be implemented by June 2018, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world to forbid women from driving. Under the current system, only men are allowed driving licences and women who drive in public risk being arrested and fined.

Because of the law, many families have had to employ private drivers to help transport female relatives.

2. To say nothing of hordes of extremists who have sworn to attack any woman seen driving.

I believe there've already been incidents of women being pulled out of their car and assaulted in the middle of the street.

I suspect a lot of our own Retalibans would do the same if they could (especially against women of color).

3. If were there, there would be many "accidental" hit and runs.

The women are already covered from head to toe so all they would need to do is cover their platesite and off they go.

Meanwhile their country has no travel bans and was the home of most of the 9/11 hijackers. At least they aren't those "horrible Muslims countries".
