on weekends lately. Besides these two, TCM showed terrific "Raisin in the Sun" by Lorraine Hansberry last Sat., and one I'd never seen that was so powerful yet disturbing, "Intruder in the Dust" (1949) based on the novel by William Faulkner who was involved with production.
Fairly obscure and billed as a late 1940s crime drama, 'Intruder' is much deeper than the brief material available online indicates, especially the performance of Puerto Rican actor Juano Hernandez who portrays the central character, and the depiction of the lives of black town folks during that pre Civil Rights era.
