Related: About this forumI need a break from the snark and Ben Carson will beat Hillary threads ****AA group****
All the condescension in the world will not make their candidate the nominee. It's a turn off. I think they need to stop telling folks what to do. Most of the threads are poison. The attacks on bravenak are continuing, they are still snipping away at her. I will go in to defend my friend but otherwise no longer wish to engage in their nonsense.

(1,883 posts)They will push back on absolutely anything if they think you are not 100 percent all-in for Bernie Sanders. They are very angry with the public's perception of Bernie's response to BLM and the overall questioning by POC about who Bernie Sanders is and what he stands for. They are angry and hurt and have blown one incident by a small group of activists into a major exposure of their personal prejudices. These people have been openly attacking POC on this forum for quite some time now. The list is llllooooonnnnggggg. Off the top of my head they include:
Public shaming such as "I can't understand why you of all people would not vote for Bernie and/or vote for Hillary...
Posting pictures of civil rights workers being hosed by racists and saying that's what Hillary would do.
Constant badgering of anyone who self-identifies as a POC.
Using terms that are just enough different from the one they wish they could say (race nagger).
Unfortunately there are lots more. Anytime they are confronted with their actions they feign ignorance and cry harassment.
The part they seem to fail to understand is that MOST people in this country have no clue who Bernie Sanders is or what he stands for. To them he's just a funny looking dude they see in the headlines occasionally. They know nothing about him. This attitude among POC is really just a subset of society in general combined with a healthy scepticism about what a Bernie Sanders presidency might mean to the people they care about.

(13,175 posts)Absolutely on point.
Dismissive of any one who questions Sanders in any way.
Hostile to those who question his ability to win the general election.
Also, on DU in particular, aggressively sensitive when any pushback comes from AA or LGBT communities.
The aggrieved tone and "How could you not support Bernie, don't you know what he stands for... " line of reasoning, followed by the standard - if you weren't so dumb you would agree with me - attitude.
That crap infuriates me.

(16,286 posts)hose and Black folks.
I have said for a long time that many, not all, of the white Bernie supporters are way too close in attitude to the teaparty folks.
We have all seen it, and what is crazy is Bernie himself is nothing like that.
He really is the long haired liberal from the 60's who did not sell out.
I said yesterday that Hillary is looking to make history (first Woman US Prez), Bernie is looking to save it.
I believe that fully.
But for every one of me's out there supporting Bernie, there is two or more of the ones like here at DU who I find repulsive.

(89,239 posts)Someone else pointed this out about their experience on the ground campaigning.
How Sanders hasn't gotten signatures to get on some ballot. Someone responded about how the party should do something and some complaint about Hillary and money.
The poster responded that o Malley has been able to get volunteers to help get signatures for ballot. And he has very little money. Less than Sanders.

(7,160 posts)She will be back Sunday, but really this proves they continue to alert stalk her.
The alert was an accident but the jurors should be ashamed of themselves

(45,850 posts)seriously I'm a forum host and I've seen accidental alerts they're made on OP's all of time - alerts meant to go to a jury that go to the hosts because the wrong box was checked but this seems odd, because when it comes to comments the choices are few = copy write infringement improper avatar or sig line or a comment the alerter feels should be hidden
rbrnmw
(7,160 posts)I guess they thought they were alerting on the juror comment

(31,849 posts)Explanation: Hate to side with Nance Grace because I think she is an extra-ordinary asshole that substitutes glibness with intelligence. And thank fucking god I no longer have to look at that stupid damn picture that she used to have in her sig line and ultimately led me to turn off sig lines because it made me want to puke.
So here's to you Nance, you Canadian resident that facilitated your husbands health care with little worries while you continue to advocate against U.S. accessing similar by advocating for a candidate who would never fight for universal healthcare.
You have never been a kind person unless it benefits you personally. Just like a republican.
Just ... WOW!

(22,165 posts)What I think I am seeing is that Bravenak's post stating that she alerted on a vile jury comment was hidden? She simply posted jury results (I have seen jury results posted numerous times) .... so I am sure my eyes are deceiving me ....right?

(42,278 posts)The alerted apparently contacted brave to let her know that s/he had made amistake. Meant to alert on the nasty juror. S/he was going to let admin know of the error. I don't know the outcome.

(22,165 posts)If I accidentally alert on your post (I don't doubt that is what happened), four jurors would still have to vote to hide it ...?????
It went through the process and four DUers voted to hide bravenak's post. Even though the alert was in error.
How much do you want to bet the poster's name figured into it?

There's outright ... um ... "creative writing" about bravenak stalking everybody in the "#hillarysoblack #bowdownhillary" thread.

(24,513 posts)All she was doing was kicking a thread. Jury voted to leave it, but it certainly shows they will alert on anything to try and get a hide on her.
On Sat Oct 31, 2015, 09:26 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
Dang this took forever

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Kicking an old dead thread to stir shit for no other reason to cause infighting. Something ain't right about this poster.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Oct 31, 2015, 09:35 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No violation of tos here. Ignore it if it bothers you. otoh suggesting something "ain't right" about the poster is pushing the envelope a bit.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Targeting Bravenak with a limp excuse for an alert is not very civil. Use your ignore button, or trash thread. There is no reason to hide this post. No one is forcing you to read her posts.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I agree that it's disruptive, but don't use the alerter comment feature to attack another DUer.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Let the cards fall where they may. Leave
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

It needs to stop, DU is no longer a welcoming and progressive community. I sure as hell don't usually find anything positive about what goes down in GDP.

(11,833 posts)Thank you all who post here. You help me learn, laugh, smile and go through life's trial's & tribulations knowing we have friends who listen & care.
Some of those posters constantly try to sow discord & dissension among black and white, among Clinton & Sanders supporters, among liberals & the left, among libertarians & everyone. They never have a good thing to say about any democrat apart from one who is unelectable. Once a democrat gets elected they trash them incessantly That's what they did to President Obama & his Administration. I believe some are right wing trolls. And some really are that stupid.
I hope this year opens a lot of eyes to the condescension, clueless & racist attitudes of some (many) on the self-described left toward people of color and their friends & allies. It's been present throughout history. It's still apparent here at DU.
