*with eyebrow raised*
Now folks are really arguing about Rosa Parks being used in a Clinton logo?
There is SO much outrage over that -
But where are they when black women die at higher rates of breast cancer and our children have higher rates of infant mortality?
I'm sorry - but - NOPE - I'm not sorry.
A fair weathered friend is just that - and I'm taking note.

Here is where you need to start your OP:

You should title it -
If You Want Me To Vote For Your Candidate, Tell Me Why
We have oodles of positive on point posts in the O'Malley Group explaining why he is just "the best" and the hosts there are much more tolerant than we are back here.
JustAnotherGen
(31,856 posts)You and your buddies have hobbled number23 but you haven't hobbled the OTHER 'Uppity One' Group Host back here. I'm here an I'm posting and I'm a-watching!
Take yourself back to the Sanders Group and don't ever post here again.
PS
O Say Can you O'Malley? Because I sure do. Psssst - reduce infant mortality rates in MD and highest black median income in America in MD when he left office. Just sayin . . .

(108,990 posts)She could have written her own ticket after that, hopped on the partnership track to a lucrative corporate job in NYC or anywhere.
But what did she do instead? She went on to study children's law and to work for the Children's Defense League, under Marian Edelman. An African American woman.
And then she went with Bill to Arkansas where she helped pay the bills because their $32K salary from his job as Governor only went so far.
As First Lady, she did her best to get a healthcare bill passed through Congress that would have been more progressive than what we were finally able to pass under President Obama.
She has spent her entire life devoted to civil rights, health, and children's issues.
Which shows how little you know.

Oh - but that won't make the Perpetually Outraged Club happy at all.

(24,544 posts)RIGHT! I mean, is that really so damned hard?? And the people that are leaping like jackalopes trying to make this into the most horriblest thing EVA are many of the same ones who said that they "liked" the poster of Sanders with MLK and FDR floating over his head.
And, to make this even funnier, these same folks are in the Rosa Parks thread SCREAMING about "double standards."

(5,420 posts)has a lot to do with income equality. When you don't have money, you don't go to the doctor. Bernie is on it. He knows that the income inequality is affecting all of our lifespans, all of our quality of life, and we are raising a generation of kids growing up with little hope. Bernie is the best answer we have.

Race in Medical Care: Skin Color Matters with Patient Care
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Health/story?id=3401076
The patients were not actually real people, but rather computer-generated images seen by the doctors only on a monitor.
This isn't the first study to find that whites get better medical care than blacks.
National Medical Association president Dr. Albert Morris said it has been demonstrated multiple times in the past that whites receive better care and get care sooner than their African-American counterparts

Training doctors to spot their own racial biases
She and her husband called the surgeon in a panic. He said that Khary had come out of anesthesia violently thrashing and flailing about. He told Lazarre that with most young people Khary's age, there wouldn't have been a problem. The doctors and nurses would have gently held him down.
"But with our son, since he was so 'large and powerful,' they were worried he might injure the medical staff," Lazarre said. "So they had to keep sending him back under the anesthesia."
Those are just two examples - but you are way off the mark with that one. We've had these discussions UMPTEEN times in this group and I won't give anymore examples. Read back a few months and you will find the those posts.

(108,990 posts)that most young men come out of surgery like that -- thrashing and flailing -- and most young women come out crying.
I didn't know then I should feel lucky that he was not black.

If the logo offends African Americans then it was a huge mistake. But I think the intention wasn't to say that Rosa was endorsing Hillary. I think it was meant to say that Hillary wants to put women and people of color in the driver's seat, where they belong. That's what seeing that logo first meant to me.
