Lift Every Voice And Sing [Video]

Great song! How many faces do you recognize? Did your parents, school, church, etc. make you learn the words? If yes, do you still remember them? I attended an HBCU and we would sing this song faithfully. I still remember it and our school alma mater pretty well. Although, I get kind of "iffy" in the middle.

We sang that song at every assembly at my all black high school. Man, this brings back some SERIOUS memories.

I referenced it in a Black History post on DU2. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7657026

even though I took an active part in the '60s movement. I am embarrassed to say that I have never known all the words. Unfortunately, we did not learn it in school nor Church.
