Anger would come from something that I'd acknowledge as truth from them.
Half the time, they have no idea what the hell they're talking about. Like the whitesplaining for example. They've been indoctrinated into thinking that they're automatically experts on anything, or that their word has to be taken as fact. That's their Achilles Heel.
The idea that they're entitled to understand black lives only from their own white perspectives and in direct conflict to an actual black person makes all the sense to them and they can't conceive for one moment what's wrong with that. Especially in light of the fact that their own behavior is the very definition of unearned privileged white supremacy in action.
All the research that I've done on white fragility comes in mighty handy. The best part of that is the fact that the research comes from whites themselves who have decided to be self-aware enough to understand how their own whiteness operates in a society run by and defined by endemic and institutional white supremacy.
Unlike them, I know what the truths are.
