Little baby gifts a bright toothless smile to the camera, circa 1940s.

This kid is a cutie.

I smiled on seeing that smile. Someone loved that child so much. Look at the back ground details as well, that family had some money

That is a great collection of pictures. One thing the pictures make clear, Epstein/Trump sex trafficking isn't the biggest sex trafficking ring in the history of America. Slavery was the biggest. It amazes me to imagine the skin tone of the original kidnapped people and the level of light skin that shows up so very early. The attempted total genocide of native peoples and slavery are this nations original sins. To this day it has not been acknowledged. It makes me sick to my stomach on a regular basis.

At least as how humans think entirely (seems like an entertainment industry scam). And Harriri is daft.

But my mom did try to find this book “Mandingo” for me, which she said portrays slavery as it actually was, rather than “Gone with the Wind” (which we read together) or even “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”.

I have never found it. And maybe I don’t want to read it at this point. The last time I thought about it was a little before my mother died.

She told me it was a pretty stark portrayal:

It is salacious and kinda controversial..but it conveyed the horrors to a non-American living half way around the world and back in the 1970s..I love books..haven’t read one in forever..
I think what struck my mom was how it conveyed the concept of dehumanization.

When we take an honest look at our past, it doesn't seem like we would need to do much to do a lot better.
