http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/09/16/1330050/-Another-Out-Of-Control-Cop-Story-But-This-Cop-May-Have-Messed-With-The-Wrong-Kid?detail=facebookNotice how the media isn't digging into his background like they did for Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown?
Notice how the media hasn't questioned the white witnesses and their motives?
Notice how people aren't digging into his facebook page, trying and find anything which can be used to justify the cop's brutal attack on him?
Notice how social media isn't trying desperately to locate pictures which make him look like a thug?
Notice how people don't really care about his past drug use?
Notice how people haven't branded him a thug worthy of his own death/serious injury?
A tale of two Americas. One standard for black victims and another standard for white victims. When a black person is victimized by law enforcement, people are swift to engage in character assassination and the victim can't respond because they're dead.
To be clear, I hope the cop is prosecuted for attempted murder, assuming the kid survives, but it's really hard not to notice the double standard here. The difference? One kid was born white while the other was born black.
Remember the recent NY Times piece which said Michael Brown was no angel? Don't expect anything like that in this case.
It's just amazing to me that so many white people can't see the double standard, yet blacks can see it....CRYSTAL FUCKING CLEAR.

is american 'white privilege' shown at it's best. Expected by me. Not diminishing the violence perpetrated on this 17 year old. Truly horrific. Yet the contradictory nature of his treatment by the media and public vs Trayvon or Michael truly exemplifies pure american racist behavior. There was no attempt at smearing him with release of alleged police record. No protestations that the cops were just following legal procedure. Nothing. Period.

those Black folk, right?
Has to be, otherwise we would not have this as an issue.
Unless....but I better not say nothing...
