The book highlights the hypocrisy of the libertarians: freedom for rich people, no freedom for you. Meanwhile, they keep gaining power in the fight to protect capitalism from democracy.
The libertarians argue that majority rule would allow people the opportunity to vote themselves a living instead of earning a living. No matter, that in the history of democracy this has never happened! These are truly the crackpots of the John Birch society! Yet this book shows how they have worked to create a narrative that is gaining acceptance.
These libertarians are simply unable to see past their own noses and realize how the economic inequality that they defend is taking away liberty from people who have much less. It was the same way for slavery. Slave owners demanded freedom to do with their "property" as they saw fit.. Yet they were clearly denying freedom to their slaves!!! Hypocrisy indeed!
As Catch-22 is full of catch-22 situations, this book is full of examples of libertarian blind hypocrisy.
