I'm obsessed with this book. It came out in 2019, and the subtitle is "A Leading Cult Expert Explains How the President Uses Mind Control." So glad he's referencing the now Ex-President! I was so sick of the Orange Turd when this came out I put off reading it, but so glad I did--wow! It's a explanation by an ex-Moonie turned expert cult and mind-control expert. He explains the tactics and strategies used by cult leaders and authoritarians to manipulate groups and individuals.
And--at the books' end he writes, "Cult leaders do not relinquish power. If Trump runs again and is not reelected in 2020, he might claim that the election was rigged. Who know what he might call on his followers to do in that case...." Published in 2019--yikes!

(2,010 posts)To describe him and his followers. Heard it on a YouTube video dedicated to suggested names to call him, it was a great show. The orange menace, the lying king, Benedict Donald, and cult 45 were my favorites.
And I've also been saying we need to deprogram and reprogram those who we can reach, because it is a cult so it should be possible. While many of his cult are filled with hate and would follow any encouragement towards violence, I believe there are many who are misguided and can be brought back to reason. But it will take a lot of work, a huge public health effort, so good luck with that, right?!?

(200 posts)When we win this fall (and I believe we are going to win Kansas big nationwide) what are we going to do with these poor deranged people.
As Ginni Thomas has demonstrated, even deprogrammed cult members just bounce to the next lunacy.
Someone on Twitter said it best, "the only difference between Jim Jones and Donald Trump is that Trump will charge for the Kool Aid"...
