A hunched-over mad scientist in a blood-stained apron, with a deep gash above his forehead, leads his victim into a hanging cage shaped to accommodate a human form, locks her in, and motions toward the poker and tongs set by a brazier of red-hot coals.

In the doctor’s nearby laboratory — cluttered with skulls, rats, a fanged rabbit, and beakers of blood — a skeleton lies shackled on an operating table. A voluptuous, scantily clad bloodsucker and a green-skinned reanimated corpse lurk, awaiting their ghastly orders. [snip]

I don't normally follow vintage comics, but DH still loves making model (car) kits. I'll have to ask him about whether or not he ever saw these Aurora kits on the toy store shelves as a kid or much younger adult, lol! I note today that a woman centenarian+ Disney colorist-type artist behind the scenes has also past (just imagine, 111 yrs old) and the right gutter at your link also included another and a writer of iconic Star Wars material. Sad times to see so many off into whatever follows...RIP Mr. Yankus, et al
