1. I'd love to see a Luke Cage 70's era crime drama instead of a modern setting.

Yeah, totally blaxploitation with gritty NYC or Chicago backdrop. Complete with visits from the great pantheon of black heros from that era like Dolemite, Shaft, Jim Kelly and the timeless elegance that is Blacula, all visting/giving Luke Cage headaches.

Yeah, the series might be...questionable, but I guaratee the soundtrack would be amazing!!!!

I doubt they would go that route since they like the idea of world building.

Then again... They did change Pym to an old guy, so that might actually work.

Nah, who am I kidding, they are doing Jessica Jones as a Netflix series, along with Daredevil. She is way too connected to Luke for him to be made from the past.

Another guy that can possibly play Luke Cage, would probably be Michael Jai White.
Although he is already playing Bronze Tiger in Arrow. He played Black Dynamite, and was in a movie called Blood and Bone.

3. Yeah, Disney doesn't have the balls to do a 70's Luke Cage with an Issac Hayes led soundtrack

Your totally right on Marvel's world building focus. I have good feelings about the Netflix shows. Hopefully, they lead to other things like a Punisher War Journal or a Moon Knight crime weekly. I absolutely love the new Moon Knight book.

Michael Jai White has the build and acting chops to pull of Luke. However, him playing in DC's sandbox already might work against him. I love the Black Dynamite cartoon. They definetly don't give a damn who they piss off and that makes me love BD even more.

He might be a little on the old side though. The guy Marvel has playing Daredevil in the upcoming series is early 30's. They'll probably wanna keep Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist within the same age range.

I am actually not happy with their choice in who is playing Matt Murdock.
Then again, I am still hopeful since their track record is pretty good.
