Where do you get, or pick up your comics?

For the most part I get mine from Vintage Stock, and I get a limited few from Amazon. I usually use Amazon to fill in holes in my graphic novel's, for example part II of Secret Identity, I had 1, 3, and 4.

I wish that comic books would creep back into grocery stores so I didn't have to drive so far to get my weekly's. I usually spend more in gas, than the current books I pick up.

I try to pick up comics at flea markets, and what not but damn near 100% of the time the comics have inflated prices, and the seller thinks all comics are worth 300% more than cover price.

Best comics shop in Ohio. Great staff, friendly and knowledgeable. Check them out if you are ever in Columbus.

Definitely not your typical comics store;

They're flawless with my pull list, bag and board all purchases for free, and have an exhaustive collection of graphic novels/TBPs. They also host a lot of local artists in a variety of media, run art contests, and give my kids free stuff (promotional trinkets and such) when they come in with me.

Sometimes I'll pick up trades from cheapgraphicnovels.com or Amazon; I just got the first two omnibus editions of Asterix from Amazon yesterday. Back issues of floppies I usually order from mycomicshop.com.

would love to drop by that one. My Vintage has a piss poor JLA/Batman/Superman graphic novel selection, and misses almost a third of my monthlies. I wish I had a comic book store like the guys in The Big Bang Theory have, that store looks like heaven to a DC homer like myself....

but beyond that it's a wonderful shop. Ridiculously clean, organized, and tastefully-decorated. I just spent eighty bucks there an hour ago. I may have an addiction.

One of the things my fiance and I do while watching Big Bang is play "Spot the DC Product" in any given scene. There are usually a few DC floppies on the coffee table every episode, and of course their bedrooms hold a wealth of DC Showcase titles. Marvel products pop up now and again but tend to be much rarer than DC stuff.

For a while nearly every episode had a Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition rulebook somewhere in the background. Obviously there are dedicated nerdlings in the set decoration crew.

keep an eye out for the DC toys/statues in the Comic book shop that I have, and drool over the one's that I don't, which are usually statues, with a heavy price.

One thing my store is good at is the back issues, they must have around 800 Superman related back issues...it seems that whenever I put a dent in one of the rows, they fill it back up in a few days, damn bastiches! I try to get around 30$ worth of back issues every two weeks, and so far I have wiped out there 1$-2.49 comics. They have a ton of 3$ comics, and some random higher ones, but eventually I'll take care of the Superman titles, and then work on Batman(same MO), and then work on JLA, then probably work on Wolverine/Xmen.

The hardest thing for me lately is remembering what I all ready have, and one of these nights I'm going to have to sit down and enter all the titles/issues I have into Excel...so far, I haven't bought many doubles, out of around 300 comics I have gotten the past year, I think I've only bought 5 doubles, but its getting a lot harder to remember.

I've actually bought the same comic two weeks in a row more than once. And I have THREE Daredevil #4's. These days I use lists that I put in my iPhone to keep track.

I've done this a handful of times with the current 52 titles, I believe it was Action, and Batman that had a couple of alternate covers and I usually recall my comics from the cover artwork, and like a dumbass I've gotten a few alternate covers, of the same issue I all ready have....

It could be a set, of course, but it seems authentic to me. If it is real, I bet the owner has been getting a lot of new business since the show started.

The owner is one of the best men I know. His shop is small and the selection can be limited, but the way he treats and appreciates his customers more than makes up for it.
