Great article in the NYT about the allure of this enduring epic.
I read it a long, long, time ago, but recently put it back on my reading list to enjoy again.

(7,394 posts)We have many rabbits in the neighborhood. I had two in a nest in the back yard, so I tried to add extra grass when it rained. The momma didn't mind. I always think of Hazel when I see them hopping about.

(31,909 posts)We have found a hole covered in leaves and rabbit fur containing baby bunnies. (My Lab almost did away with one of them). We enjoy seeing them hopping around in our yard, although our garden has a fence around it and is off limits to them! I've always liked rabbits for some reason .... we had a pet rabbit many years ago, one of those lop eared ones.
