(26,113 posts)Once I hit 65 and retired, I just accepted myself as old. The fact that I don't look old is a real bonus, but doesn't change the facts. I lost 42 lbs over the last 9 months so get around better than before. Now my challenge is dealing with stess better!

(17,757 posts)I am happy to have gotten this far. I have been retired for four years and I love every minute of it. Every day is Saturday where I live.

(26,113 posts)I often keep aa large lined one on my frig for grocery/drugstore trips. I always get appointment cards and write them on my calendar. I have thought about using an electronic calendar like I did when working, but I like pretty wall calendars, and like being able to see my schedule for the month and I guess I'm just old and don't want to make this change. I already do a lot on my phone and am not wanting to increase that.

(15,876 posts)Of course it has the bank logo on it but it's not too big.. Although I must admit I like my Google calendar for a lot of things... Like when repeating monthly bills that come due and birthdays. I can put a little + sign next to the entry and the next time I open the calendar I can see at a glance what's paid and what's due, cards sent or not. Also appointments are entered. The neat thing is that when things are due they also pop up on my gmail account so If I don't check the calendar it shows up in my email.. The google calendar is portable in my phone... YMMV

(7,549 posts)Memory does not improve with age. I used to blame memory issues on "Chemo Brain". Trust me, it is a real thing. Now the combination of the two is not positive.
I appreciate Google and lists to help. But you learn to accept that some things are recalled days later or not at all.
Fortunately, that little memory test you take in your Medicare visit with your doctor is only 3 words.

(3,384 posts)somebody yesterday and she actually for a moment forgot the name of her son in law. At this age, your favorite words in a conversation are, "sh*t, it'll come to me in second". You have to laugh at these frustrations, there is really no other viable choice.
