i am not good at showing love and then i show too much
effusively worshipping from far or clutch hard at the near
dwelling in some heaven above bestowing a golden touch
one single diamond shining star that glows strangely clear
i am not good at receiving love i can only take too much
givers grow weary and empty but i am eternally insatiable
taking a beating heart of a dove in fingers that only clutch
unaware that i have taken plenty of desires so inescapable
i am not good at losing love clinging to the silken threads
bringing forth the wistful wishes hoping for one last scent
a bit of apparel such as a glove guarding these last shreds
covering the inanimate in kisses to forget what was meant
i am not good at releasing love to say goodbye or withdraw
even as desires push and shove expose the minuscule flaw
