I wasn't familiar with his work but I'm seeing a lot of my author friends paying tribute to him...

I'd read several stories some years back, and then met him at a Mile Hi Con five or six years ago. He was sweet and gracious, and every time I met him at subsequent Mile Hi Cons he remembered me, which was quite touching. I am a huge fan in the s-f community, and I've written a handful of stories that have been published, and so I am hugely appreciative of the pros like Ed Bryant. More to the point, he was accessible and kind, and I treasure my few interactions with him.
